Rougui is more long lasting, stronger, avid, like smoked meat, grinded salmon, and at the end, LO! pause of fresh contemplation on a Red Strawberry of Compassion and Exhaustion of senses. It keep you up indeed, on the fringes of delirium, almost ecstasys. You found yourself keep digging and digging absurd ideas or just simply forgetting yourself in a conversation about the mysteries of life with strangers around a wooden table in your den..
Master Xu has crafted this miracle for us and our long lasting escape from this tremendous world. And he has a splendid community of farmers in Wuyishan which is great social experiment we are happy to praise and promote..
Rougui Rock Tea from Jingwoshen Community Tea, by Master Xu, Wuyishan, Fujian.
Rougui, the darkest and strongest of the Wuyi Yan Chas. It is almost a shock, a revelation, an assault to the senses with its wood fragrances, and profound complexion of deep ages and liquor and berries.
It is best steeped in a porcelain gaiwan set, almost in no time served in the first three infusions, and then progressively infused for 3 or 5 seconds more. I found it personally great, intense and heating up the senses if you drink it in small earthenware cups like those from Longchang, Rongchang in Sichuan, Bizen, Tokoname, Iga or Shigaraki in Japan.
