Master Yu in his workshop in Baiyangping town always entertains us at his tea table with this delightful set. His lacquerware, made in the strictest observance of traditional skills and manufacture, lasts for a lifetime. Each vessel takes about one year to be completed. Application of lacquer essence, and then rubbing and smoothing the vessel with continuous application of layers of lacquer, the process is overall time consuming and extremely delicate. But the reward is to create beautiful objects that speak of history and that can last for a lifetime.
